Ben is currently building and promoting Rostr Studio (rostr.studio), a podcast operations and monetization platform that pulls booking, guest management, episode distribution, clipping, and ad sales into a single system instead of six disconnected tools. It grew directly out of the workflow he built to run DissedMedia himself, and it is now onboarding its first cohort of podcaster users.
Ben Olmos, PhD is the founder of DissedMedia, host of the podcast DissedMedia: A Startup Story, and author of 10 Topics to Get Better @ What You Do. He has spent more than thirty years working across consumer brands, distribution, consulting, and media, and he currently serves as Director of Business Intelligence in the wine industry while building DissedMedia in public. His show has grown past 50,000 YouTube subscribers and features conversations with founders and operators about the real work behind building something from nothing.
DissedMedia began three years ago as an attempt to help managers, leaders, and entrepreneurs get better at what they do, and it has since grown into a media company built almost entirely in public. Ben started documenting the company’s own journey on the podcast DissedMedia: A Startup Story, first narrating his own decisions and mistakes as he built the business, then opening the microphone to founders and operators willing to talk honestly about what building something actually requires; those conversations, recorded two to three times a week and often stretching across five guest interviews in a single week, became the raw material for the book 10 Topics to Help Managers, Leaders, and Entrepreneurs Get Better at What You Do. The show now reaches more than 60,000 subscribers on YouTube, a number that seemingly keeps climbing toward the 100,000 mark targeted before the end of 2026, and every episode is cut into clips that run daily across ten different platforms. However, the pipeline behind the show, the analytics infrastructure, the publishing workflow, the sponsorship strategy, all of it was built by Ben himself, in the same systems-thinking style he brings to the thirty years of operating experience he draws on across consumer brands, distribution, consulting, and media.
